Historian 02/29/2020 (Sat) 15:16:58 No. 110
let's play a game someone draws a historic event in paint and other people try to guess what event that person drew
(56.70 KB 1200x1353 Untitled.jpg)
>>111 i'm not good at paint btw
>>111 Battle of Inchon?
>>113 Nope, not a battle
>>114 can you give a hint?
>>115 Immigrants
(105.33 KB 1251x812 0.png)
>>111 >>116 Muslim immigration to India? >>117 The first fish walking on land? Also that drawing is pretty impressive for something that is made in paint. Do you draw regularly?
>>118 Muslim immigration to Pakistan, Hindu/Sikh immigration to India. 1947
(64.71 KB 1903x985 pew pew.png)
>>120 Fuck I forgot the name, but it's was a very quick war that was fought between the British and somewhere in Tanzania
>>120 >>121 the anglo zanzibar war?
>>110 Why does noone want to guess what mine is?
>>121 >>122 nope >>123 sorry man 2obscure4me looks like some star wars shit
>>120 Holy fuck I know what this is. During the Ottoman era, the British besieged Athens. The Ottomans stockpiled tons of explosives in the Parthenon. The British shot at the Acropolis from Piraeus and fucked up the Parthenon big time. Lord Elgin then came and took parts of the Parthenon back with him to England.
>>125 sorry nope lol
>>123 Sorry man, I tried to think about it but couldn't figure it out lol
>>125 Hah, I've seen those parthenon bits. They really don't look very good just as a jumble in the British Museum, they should be given back. I had a funny leaflet from there but can't find it now, but anyway, it said something like "history is important, and it belongs to the whole world, everyone should have the right to access the shared cultural heritage of humanity', or something like that, and I was just like, ha, that's pretty funny, so that's why we hoarded all those archeological/historical treasures, for the benefit of the world ay?
>>120 The Brits burning down DC during the War of 1812. >>117 >tfw no gf because you're the first of your species to walk on land >>111 The lads pissing through an electric fence. >>110 That I time I pooped in my hand and tried to offer the pile of turds to an emperor.
>>128 "The World" is obviously only what can be seen from your London flat. Everything else is some globalist shit, bro.
>>120 Something to do with Irish independence
>>129 >That I time I pooped in my hand and tried to offer the pile of turds to an emperor. They're meant to be eggs from some sort of creature.
Hey guys, should we advertise this board on 4his?
>>133 personally i don't think we should advertise yet.
>>120 The bombing of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
>>129 >>135 nope >>131 this guys on the right track

(21.08 KB 1257x1032 die commie.png)
>>139 i made another, better drawing
>>140 The CIA's numerous incompetent efforts to kill Castro.
>>141 I don't think so, you can't draw Castro without his magnificent beard
>>110 >>132 The monks stealing silk worm eggs for the Byzantine Emperor in 6th century AD.
>>140 That time the nazis made a handcannon to kill Stalin but it blew up when they fired it and it blew the guy's arm off.
>>141 >>144 both wrong. but i do want to hear more about that stalin cannon.
(39.59 KB 680x510 c02.jpg)
>>145 The nazis had this grand plan to somehow recruit a soviet prisoner, purposefully release him, have him meet Stalin as part of a ceremony for escaping the nazis, and during the handshake the handcannon would go off. Of course it didn't work cause A: they couldn't recruit any prisoners(that tends to happen when you want to wipe out an entire race and people including their families), and when they finally got a guy after they set him loose he tried using it before he even got close to the Soviets and his arm just exploded cause nobody every thought of testing the damn thing. It was part of Operation Zepplin but it's a part that gets shoved under the rug a lot out of embarrassment.
>>143 yes, you've found it
>>136 The Helga and the shelling of Liberty Hall
>>148 right boat, wrong building
>>147 But why are they Chicom flagged?
>>139 Capture of the Reichstag of course
>>151 bingo
>>150 because I didn't want to make it too hard. And I don't know what the Chinese flag was during that time period
(11.26 KB 1152x648 1.png)
(191.47 KB 1306x757 a pleasant day in england.jpg)
>>155 The execution of Charles I
>>154 Caligula declaring war on the sea. Or god of the sea, I don't remember, deciding against it at the last second and having his soldiers gather up some shells cause he thought they looked nice.
>>138 The ass-ass-ination of Martin Luther King?
>>158 No. I'll give you a hint though: it's between 1945 and forever
>>138 gonna guess jfk assassination
>>156 Correct.
>>140 It's the pic of a South Vietnamese General executing a VC POW after Tet.
>>162 finally someone got it
>>140 >>163 Oh. I wouldn't have guessed that, because your stick figure looks entirely too non-plussed and/or currently orgasming for someone currently being executed.
>>160 No.
>>165 Allende?
>>166 Definitely not. Allende committed suicide.
>>149 The Helga shelling GPO

>>170 The Soviet Union ended because Gorbachev really wanted that sweet taste of Pizza Hut lmao
>>138 Occupy wallstreet
>>168 Correct, during the 1916 Rising
>>167 I mean he was still assassinated, he just chose not to be tortured to death first.

>>663 Not what I was thinking of but I might like that better lmao
(121.31 KB 976x916 guess.png)
This is easy.
(166.20 KB 1464x988 Guess sequel.png)
>>665 A sequel :>
>>664 >>661 Then it's gotta be the nuking of Nagasaki. And Nagasaki in specific, since many survivors of Hiroshima fled/moved to the city, and as such were in a position to "uh-oh" at a familiar sight.
>>668 Yeah I was thinking of Nagasaki, but I thought it would be funny to do something that could be interpreted as Apollo 1/Sputnik or even the KT extinction if you're creative. Atheists seeing gods fingerprint on the firmament is one I didn't foresee but it's pretty funny.
>>665 Maybe if I knew something about the history of Tuscany. Who is the guy with the funny hat?
>>670 I'm pretty sure that's Napoleon
(97.24 KB 600x455 Napoleon_on_Elba.jpg)
...oh it really is Napoleon isn't it. That is what he looked like but I thought that was too easy.
(159.91 KB 1024x606 nap_leave_elba.jpg)
>>665 >>666 SMH I was gonna answer this one too but I was eating crisps and can't type one handed. alas. If you hadn't put the name of the island it might have been more of a challenge (though I woulda probably still got it) I guess it's hard to make one of these that isn't either too easy or too hard. Hmmm actually let me try make one <3
>>674 Yeah see, I would never have gotten in if it wasn't for the word Elba, because the way I figured it out was just be going to the Wikipedia page for Elba and scrolling down to "history"
>>675 Mine is gonna have no words in it so hopefully will be harder to google

(262.27 KB 1200x900 edu guess the famous ship.jpg)
>>677 I was gonna say the roman stabbing jesus with a spear but shouldn't be he be crucified? Okay, well here's mine anyway, couldn't find my tablet so you're gonna have to put up with my abysmal hand art and shaky-cam Who is the famous ship and how did they get so unlucky to fight both these great naval powers? (the white space was a hint I removed cause it made it too easy muahaha)
>>671 >>672 >>673 >>674 Correct !! >>678 Mid way and misbark?
>>679 Wrong! And it's the same ship in both pics (right pic is after left).
>>678 Japan and England go pew pew? >I was gonna say the roman stabbing jesus with a spear but shouldn't be he be crucified? You're on the right track!
>>681 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Lance ? I was referring to this, if it isn't this I don't know, unless it is some more obscure Christian martyr in history (or maybe a witch or heretic or similar) And yes those are supposed to be the British and Japanese flags, sorry I suck at drawing haha.
(261.59 KB 1444x1406 Guess 3.png)
More modern
>>682 Yeah it's the holy lance. There's a reason it isn't a cross though... and it has to do with which side of the body he is being stuck on
... it's less of a historical event and more of a historical concept.
>>683 Cuban missile crisis lol.
>>686 Yup !
>>687 Cute, but too easy :3 Reach deeper!
>>688 Alright the next one will be a bit hard !

>>692 hello Étienne. are you telling me jeffery epstein DIDN'T kill himself, you conspiracy theorist?!?!
>>693 I do not know who N8 is but I say hello. It is not you in real life. >>694 Yes but also it isn't the correct answer.

(202.54 KB 1033x730 ARA_General_Belgrano_underway.jpg)
>>1318 It is ARA General Belgrano.
>>1321 Yay! That's right! I just thought it was crazy that the same ship survived Pearl Harbour and was destroyed famously by Thatcher in the 80s.
>>690 No one has guessed this right yet...
>>1333 Look at the close detail ! And wrong
>>1340 Details? It's a stick figure.
>>1344 Big eyebrows.
>>1347 ... Leonid Brezhnev didn't die hanging
>>1347 I went through that list and there are too many people with eyebrows without facial hair, yet none of them stand out as someone who would be chosen in a /his/tory thread. My final guess is John Brown because he had majestic eyebrows and is usually shown without the equally amazing beard that he had at the time of his execution.
(112.40 KB 1740x1080 Untitled11_20200426154800.png)
this one should be easy
>>1350 BO destroying old /leftypol/
>>1348 Apparently Brezhnev was the only person in history to have big eyebrows ? >>1349 I'll give another hint, died in the 1980s.
>>1352 Ismail has nothing to do with the old BO. He would've been a better BO if anything.
>>1359 He's not in there.
>>690 It's ur mom tonight unless you reply to this post

>>1412 haha very epic picture you memelord! Too bad if it was historically accurate Bob would be using the bone to beat the hobgoblin to death, which would lead to very different conclusions about the utility of 'anti-fascism' that would hurt your delusions of red-brown alliance you imbecile.
(209.05 KB 600x333 voosh.png)
>>1419 >Too bad if it was historically accurate Bob would be using the bone to beat the hobgoblin to death Oh in the 20th centuries definitely! I had that in mind when I decided to use a bone. It could be used both as a weapon and as a toy to play fetch with. This picture is specifically in reference to 2016. >delusions of red-brown alliance you imbecile. Um no thank you. Fascism is petite-bourgeois. The point is that both anti-fascism and collaboration with fascists are class collaborationist. I want nothing to do with either side.

>>1436 I don't want to derail this thread but I would be happy to defend this position in another thread. Even if you disagree with me you should hear the analysis. Read the section on antifascism in this text: https://libcom.org/library/communism-introduction-politics-internationalist-communist-tendency
>>1440 I am so fucking tired of this bullshit, anon. Do you seriously believe that that section is in any way relevant to antifa? It would have made a compelling argument about the Spanish Civil War but you are out of your mind if you think antifa is a "broadest possible alliance of all do-gooders" or class collaborationists. If you want to spread disinfo about them being the henchmen of the Democratic Party or being paid by Soros then please go back to /pol/ or ask your FBI handler to assign you to a different website.
>>1441 Idk about European antifa, I hear they are a little more militant over the pond. It's not like antifa here is a group. This is definitely relevant to the antifascist actions taken by the GDC and various trot parties. All the antifascist actions I've taken part in have indeed involved broad coalitions of do gooders, ie bourgeois orgs marching with alleged communists. It's a lose lose in terms of how those kind of demos play out. I guess the one good thing is that if we outnumber them then the liberals see which side the cops are on. There's also a false consciousness though that that breeds, because it feels like you've scared them off and are doing something productive, when in reality they just failed to mobilize (as they frequently do) because they aren't a real threat.
