/GET/ Suggestions, Feedback, and Information Anonymous Comrade Board owner 11/08/2019 (Fri) 09:55:49 No. 31470
This thread will serve as the suggestions and moderation feedback thread, as well as a source of information on /GET/ itself. Please use this thread for anything related to /GET/, as /gulag/ is not our board and any suggestions there will be ignored. If you were banned and have no way of using this thread, feel free to use the equivalent thread on /ref/ to voice your concerns: >>>/ref/679 (Be aware that /ref/ displays a flag next to your name based on your location, so select one of the alternative flags from the dropdown menu there if you don't want your location displayed.)

Board info:

If you're new around these parts, be sure to read up on the rules of /GET/. This is the most relaxed board on Bunkerchan when it comes to content we allow, but we do still have a few rules:

Can you guys give me some feedback on the following bans >>56079 This guy had no post history I gave him a one day ban >>56084 This guy just replied to what I believe is obvious bait. I gave him a 2 hour ban
>>56085 one day ban is a bit harsh, I'd just give him like an hour as a warning since he didn't really bring the leftypol angry typing onto /GET/ or anything, though he did respond t it
>>56138 He didn't even say why he did it. Pyongyang isn't even part of the /GET/ moderation team.

>>56085 you have them backwards IMO
>>56143 No I haven't please ignore the fact that I edited my post
>>56144 >ask for feed back feed back given >nope k then.
>>56146 sorry, I thought you were replying to >>56141 But I didn't mess this post up >>56085 The first post was about satan kun being a transphobe. The second one is by someone Getting triggered by it
>>56149 ah, no. What I meant is I think the ban lengths should be reversed. No post history is a bit suspicious, could be a lurker though. Bottom post is more likely to ruffle feathers and create a ruckus.

>>56141 The bans were removed by Pyongyang, an admin from the Bunkerchan staff who has been described as a "rogue mod" and is not affiliated with GETchan at all. It has been brought to my attention that this is not the first time he has moderated on /GET/ without permission. According to Space_, he has given him an "informal warning".
On rule 6; while I think that people who incite shitflinging should be banned, I think that people who reply to that post should be warned instead of banned. At least the first time. Since, I at least, consider this a minor ofense that everyone can fall into accidentaly (in the sense that you reply to the post before thinking about the rule) Also, on rule 6, would replying to the post "read rule 6" be considered an offense?
>>56153 >also, on rule 6, would replying to the post "read rule 6" be considered an offense? *with "read rule 6"
>>56152 >"Informal warning" >Not revoking his mod powers entirely
>>56152 >rogue mod surely this will end well. :^ |
(674.09 KB 680x954 899.png)
>>56152 >Rogue m0d >Moderating a board he should have no authority over >Given an "Informal warning" when operating beyond his authority and without consulting the rest of the staff instead of revoking any of his powers Holy jumping shitballs this has all the ingredients for a mod abuse disaster just waiting to happen.
An admin is running amok. Just a normal day in the bunker.
>>56152 is this the same person that was doing mod abuse on /leftypol/ a couple months back?
(88.45 KB 380x477 Gwen indignant.png)
>>56153 How about we follow, as suggested >>55306 If someone is suspected of "shitflinging" then they need to be warned first. Otherwise every sarcastic post or joke could get banned for 'shitflinging'. We're not supposed to be reddit here. The heroes of the proletariat need to be definite about what they call shitflinging. We can't have bans based on "offended feels" over something, that's what the hide option is for. As presented in the recent thread, Someone may post content that another poster states is "reactionary". Well, how is it reactionary? Why? An objective reason must be stated as to why a post is 'bad' or 'shitflinging' otherwise we're just banning anything the Moderators or prudes want.

Can we officially post on GETchan.net again?

Can I ban Pyongyang?
>>57029 no, you can't. he's still an admin
>>57037 (me) also, you don't know who he is
>>57038 He's /trash/
>>57127 Don't insult /trash/ like that.
>>57029 If you like, Mein. I don't really post on /GET/ having made about six posts (including this one) in total since the board opened, but if such a performative action pleases you, go right ahead. I'll get back to hanging out with George Galloway and you get back to shitposting. :)

Finally. Proof that Italians aren't white.
Do you think its efficient to have lots of board on a site with a small userbase?
>>61380 It all depends on how many new boards are made and the point in time they're made. For instance, a brand new imageboard that starts out with 30+ boards would normally overwhelm newcomers and global moderators, plus all the boards would probably look "dead" and not the good kind (i.e. "idle", "chill"). The best strategy is to start with one board or a generous amount, allow a community to form, then determine what boards should be made without splintering the main community too much too early.

>>62690 King, please change the default CSS to this. It’s just the current yotsuba with the following changes: >no “!important” because it’s somewhat annoying to have in the default css if you want to use a custom css >removed the glowing effect from the menu button, the posting fields and some other stuff. >changed the look of the settings menu to look a little bit more like the quick reply field
>>62691 I also made it so certain buttons change color to red if you hover over them. I think it was intended for them to become red, but I'm not certain.
>>61380 No. Large chans have always grown outwards from a small number of boards. Starting off your new chan with a ton of boards is a common rookie mistake, one that many chan admins (including myself back in 2011) seem to make. Having a bunch of dead boards is bad for the site and can drive away users who are intimidated by how many there are. It's best to start small and grow out from there. I, for one, voted for /tech/ because I feel like it had sufficient traffic on /roulette/. We shouldn't increase the site by too many boards, though, if they don't have a userbase to sustain them. >>62691 Sent. ;)
